Jean Arneau Filtness was born in Dublin (Ireland),

of an Irish father and a French mother. He's living in Paris, France.

Jean Arneau Filtness studied philosophy for 5 years at Paris 8 University.

He was primarily interested in the first philosophy of Wittgenstein,

the language limits, and the aesthetic experience.


His first novel was originally published in 1997 by Ces Lignes publishing

and the novel is currently part of the Marseille National Poetry Center catalogue (cipM).


Jean Arneau Filtness is also a Visual Artist and a Film director.

Following several exhibitions, he won a grant from the FIACRE

(French Ministry of Culture) and spent 6 months in New-York to study the artistic contemporary scene.

Note: one unique performance entited La Chanson d’Aénisidème. Text and voice: JA Filtness + a different musician for each performance. The performance (which is composed of 100 sentences) has to be performed 100 times with 100 different musicians.
